I was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. My wife, Marlene, and I have three children and raised them all in a loving, Christian centered environment.  I obtained a bachelor and master’s degree in business administration, and had a successful career at General Motors and retired in 2014. I spent many years learning about substance use disorder after realizing Eric was struggling with addiction. My book is my first publication.  My SUD education included, Al-Anon for over 10 years, Celebrate Recovery, Life’s Healing Choices, by John Baker, and classes at Henry Ford Maplegrove.  I also took Family Peer Recovery Coach training.  I’ve shared our story with various support groups, Macomb Community College, and TV media.
